I’m here looking for a replacement for mine. it finally died after 12+ years of regular use. It saved me more times than I can count. unfortunately for me, it seems to be discontinued everywhere, probably because I got the only good one….

It is waterproof, holds 30% more fuel (lighter fuel), fuel does not evaporate like a Zippo, because of the waterproof seal. Designed to work in sub zero temps and high altitude… Extremely reliable and we’ll worth the cost!
NO PARTS MADE IN CHINA!
Saw this product at the Salt Lake Outdoor Convention and was blown away.

Got to be a way to lock that down temporarily.

Thanks for the post.

Back in the mid 90’s I was a retailer doing the gun show circut selling quality survival kits and equipment including MSR, Wiggy’s, Silva, Brunton, incl. UST (at that time called just ‘Ultimate Survival’) They had a dozen high quality products all made in USA and that included ‘The Blast Match’ and later the 1st production of ‘The Mini-Blast match’. Now both products are questionable at best. The only UST product that I feel confident buying is the ‘Wetfire’ fire starters. They still work very well and are usually under $4. Even their Para-Cord is made in ‘west-of-Hawaii’, REALLY? You can’t find a US manufacturer of 550 cord here in America? C’mon UST, you can do better.

Also 90% of anything w/ Bear Grylls logo on it is also imported trash.
