Nothing will stop a criminal like the business end of a .44 mag cocked and ready to rock pointed at center mass. A 911 police response is just that; a response to a crime already committed. Protect yourself and protect the 2nd amendment.

On the ranch everyone carries a side arm 24/7 like the old west. So when three pilgrims show up for an armed robbery it was the OK corral. They ended up in jail the lawyers got them out and they never went to trial in exchange for ratting out some drug dealers

NO there is no LAW that requires us to defend anyone, but we do not do the job for the money,,,believe me,,LEO’S do the job because it is a calling, when people say thank you or give you a cookie etc. that is why we protect to the best we can,,,,that being said with everyone complaining about higher taxes, getting tickets etc. it is hard for departments to have enough coverage at all times.
Turn your neighborhood into a gated community and hire a security company to protect you,,,,at about three times the cost of a little more support for your local pd.
