I used to own the Foxfire series. Books 1 thru 3 were informative. After that, I realized the rest were what the researchers intended them to be, a documentary of how folks lived in Appalachia. Some mentions of what they did, little to none of how they did it. So, I donated the whole set to a school fundraiser.

What about fictional? These days there is a ton of survivalist fiction books on Amazon, usually some kind of post apocalyptic stuff, some of them not even released on paperback, just kindle.
Do you know any good fiction that is at the same time entertaining and actually educational as far as survival goes?

I have read Dare to Prepare and the LDS Preparation Book (it is a free download). They are both reference books covering many areas of prepping. I thought they were both quite good!

I like the selection of survival books. I’ve heard one second after is a very good read. That will be my next book. I’ve read the Preppers Blueprint…….I would suggest this book, another very good read.
