A college degree can open up a multitude of doors for young people as well as older folks. My personal experience is a good example…I did four years in Computer Engineering (full ride scholarship…GI Bill Purdue Univ. as a veteran) and had a very successful career in the fields of computer science and software engineering. No debt, served my country with the DoD as a civilian contractor and the US Army Reserves (38 years-retired). I believe that many young people out of H.S. tend to get lazy and don’t develop any ambition nor drive to success and “default” to the off-grid life–what ever that might be…homelessness, no job, no business ambitions, etc.

But not everyone is inclined to put that much time and effort into college (or trade school) and life off grid can be successful and rewarding…but a person has to work really hard at it.
Thanks for listening.
