Everything in our B-O-B’s is sealed in either foodsaver vacuum bags and/or Ziploc Freezer bags. Multiple small bags are then sealed and packed in a larger bag – wet equipment is no good anytime. Everything gets labeled with a black Sharpie marker regardless if I know what’s in the bags (others may not know what the stuff is). Our electronics (phone, Ham Handie-talkie, CCrane Skywave SSB, IR Night scope, batteries, etc.) meds, and ammo are sealed in bags and then put inside small rigid water-proof cases (they will float if dropped in a stream, lake, or other body of water). It may take a little more time and space when packing up to move after using your equipment, but at least your equipment will be safer and will be there when you need it most.

Once out of the city, detach the straps, invert the pack so the pouches hang on the outside, reattach straps to exposed attach points, and you will have doubled your carrying capacity.

Poncho, poncho liner, ferro rod. container for water. My lucky boxers and jock strap. Old socks that need to be washed.
