I reported an absconding wanted fugitive, wanted for 8 class a felonies, half of them violent. I was told they were too busy by the 911 operator and that I needed to go home and leave him alone. They don’t need me to do their job. That being said, it’s been 7 months they’ve been chasing him with no effort.

My uncle lives close to an unsafety zone. I like how you mention the presence of a firearm is enough to stop a criminal dead in his tracks and turn back. Thank you for the information. I’ll recommend my uncle to buy a legal firearm so he doesn’t get assaulted.

I believe in responsible gun ownership. I can think of several reasons: (1) Someone keyed my car with a Swastika. I viewed that as a threat. (2) I am to myself and do not bother anyone, but have received email threats from several people who have found some reason to hate me. They appear to be emotionally unstable. The world is full of crazy people. I have to think of myself and my loved ones. I am retired military and own guns know how to use them. I wish we lived in a world where it wasn’t necessary.

In reply to Melissa. My local high school was re-built to include FEMA specifications and it looks like a staging area to securely load people onto busses. Don't underestimate the long term plans of FEMA.

Agree, not everyone has the personality/temperment to determine in-advance that the lives of themselves and their family are valuable, more valuable than the lives of someone threatening/attacking them, and that immediate violent action is required to survive the encounter. Know yourself! If you can't/won't use the firearm you carry, tuck it away securely because it's now a financial instrument for you and a future tool for a better person. If you change your mind in a crisis and need a firearm, legal new sales channels will likely be closed, or make you a target of investigation by trying to get a firearm. Early/soon/now is the time to get the tools you may need, which certainly includes at least one firearm (a rifle, likely an AR-pattern) and some use-training.
