It’s years later and I just read your reply, Covert_1.
You probably won’t read this, but still: appreciate the sentiments.
Hope somebody’s had your 6 these past years.

Wow! This is a great response, B from CA! I’m going to do some research and see if I can plant at least MOST of the things you mentioned in my “neck o’ the woods’. We don’t get much sun here…and lots of rain…but I’m hopeful! Thanks for the information!

Solly, Old Soldier……..

EMP just as likely as a hurricane? BULLSHT. We have hurricanes EVERY year, haven’t had an EMP yet.

BUT it’s not impossible, and I want to be ready.

THAT means getting rid of old don’t know sht soldier, getting a Faraday cage, and doing a whole lot of other stuff more responsive to electromagnetic than to hurricanic waves.

TOO MUCH BULLSHT IN THE WORLD. See Dimmercrats in your dicktionary.

Also don’t forget that cows and goats don’t produce milk unless they have had young. Think of where you are going to get the daddy.

This is the issue that brought me to this site. Although the suggestions for thyroid support may help someone with thyroid function, for those of us with no function, replacement is essential. In my twenties, after my thyroid was eliminated I was sent off for the summer with no synthroid and even though bicycling in the Rockies, hiking and eating right, I gained 25 lbs. — in three months. Hate to imagine what would happen now.

As for cooking I’ve got a Sterno stove with several Sterno cans. Pretty easy to set up, but it’s basically good to heat up thinks like soup or water. If you have a balcony get yourself a grill. Some apartments don’t allow grills but I’d get one anyway, even if it’s just a small one that uses charcoal., which would be easier and safer to store than propane. My dream item is a solar cooker. If you can swing that (about $400) you can use it whenever it’s sunny. That would depend a lot on your climate though. Check them out online.
