For those of you who follow my other site, CountryHookers.com<\/a>, you know I’m an avid angler who spends lots of time fishing in the backcountry.\u00a0 Becuase of the rough areas I fish, I go through a lot of gear and anything I bring with me better be able to take a beating.<\/p>\n

We’ve done a lot of gear guides over the years, but last year was the first time I put together a Holiday fishing gear guide<\/a> for OFFGRID Survival. I usually save the fishing stories for my other site, but people seemed to enjoy it last year so we decided to do it again.<\/p>\n

Here are some of my top fishing gear selections from the past year.\u00a0 With Christmas coming up, they all make great gifts for your favorite angler!<\/p>\n

When I started thinking about fishing reels that I could add to this year’s fishing gear guide, I really only had one option – I went with the reel that I use every time I go out, and with what I believe is one of the best reels on the market right now.<\/p>\n

The knife is specifically geared for the outdoors and is perfect for fishermen who like to camp and eat their catch.<\/p>\n

BULLET WEIGHTS, Tungsten Bullet Weights<\/a><\/h3>\n

When it comes to weights, Bullet Weights are among my favorite weights to use when running a Texas Rig or a Carolina Rig. So when Bullet Weights released a Tungsten version I couldn’t wait to check them out.<\/p>\n

Flambeau Waterproof Satchel 4000 with Ultimate Tuff Tainers<\/a><\/h3>\n

I have more broken tackleboxes sitting in my garage than I can count, so when I came across the Flambeau Waterproof Satchel 4000 I was pretty stoked to see how well made and indestructible it felt.<\/p>\n

The thing is tough, waterproof, and can fit a ton of gear.<\/p>\n

Booyah Bait Poppin Pad Crasher Frog<\/a><\/h3>\n

The BOOYAH Poppin’ Pad Crasher is one of my favorite topwater frogs and is one of the best topwater baits to throw when you need to create more surface disturbance to get the fish to pay attention.<\/p>\n
